Try to swap it with another monitor, and try this monitor in another PC.

If another monitor works in your PC, the problem may be the video card or the video chip if it is integrated to the motherboard.

If the monitor does the same thing in another PC, it may be faulty, or the video cable is faulty.

Check the connector(s) in the video cable to see if any pins are bent. If a pin is bent, you can try to straighten it with a small screwdriver and/or tweezers

That would be the first thing to try.... plug the monitor into a known good PC (or laptop) or connect a known good monitor to the PC. Are you getting a message on the screen saying there isn't a signal? A monitor will act this way if a PC isn't successfully booting up, so it may be the PC (especially if the monitor IS displaying a message of no signal). When you say the monitor came on, I'm assuming the power light turned green... and after a bit, it turns amber (like the monitor has no signal from the comp)... or does it totally shut off?

when i turn on my PC the green light on the monitor comes on for about 3-5 secs and just before the screen comes on, the green light goes back to blinking.

I think i am also facing the similar problem with the monitor. When i switch ON the PC, the monitor display gets blank and after that when i am unplugging the monitor from the CPU, the monitor start by itself and the green light continues to blink without having a Display.

So, if u have solved this prob..Can you tel me how u have solved it..so who is creating the problem:Monitor or Motherboard??
