Monitor Windows logins

reggaethecat
Hi

Does anyone know of any tools which can send an alert when a user logs into a Windows domain?

We would like to know if a particular user or users tries to log in out of hours, or from home.

Thanks in advance

AD logs all that stuff. I suppose you could write a script to email you or something. There is an entire administrative alerts subsystem service built into Windows.

Third party apps? You'll have just as much luck doing a search as I would, so I'll just leave this for anyone else who knows of an existing product.

I wish I'd thought of that. Funny though.

That was pretty funny, :) but I wonder if this person chose Techrepublic to get their answer because they felt they would get a better response than they would with Google? Should all tech related questions now be deferred to google? What would happen to this site?

Some questions are so well formulated that they would get a good result over at google.

But when you don't know what you're looking for, then google doesn't help. (Interesting, what would I get if I googled "Is my mother broad cooked", for instance. :)

I tried Google. But looking through millions of results isn't a great use of my time. So I thought I'd pick the brains of m fellow professionals on TR as someone may already have had this requirement.
