Need to use Lotus Notes with Office 2007....

tosha_slenning
In Office 2007 the sendto button is greyed out and the email button does not want to work at all...We use Lotus notes as an email client instead of Outlook or it's prodessors. How do we enable these two buttons in Office 2007 so that we can send e-mail using Lotus notes?

    The company I work for is going to install Office 2007 and install Notes 7 but we are unable to get the e-mail button and the sendto button in Office 2007 to work with notes.

    We used notes, and to get that functionality, the Notes had to be installed before the office suite, so it could connect and install the needed plugins.

    also, you have to do the custom install, not the default. make sure all connectivity plugins are installed.

    I use Lotus Notes and was facing the same problem earlier.

    Do the following settings in your Internet Explorer and it will work:

    0. Open 'Internet Explorer'
    1. Go To Toos>Internet Options>
    2. Click on Tab 'Program'
    3. Select Default Email Client as "Lotus Notes"
    4. Click 'Apply'
    5. Click 'OK'

    and you are ready to use the 'Send To' feature.

    Don't forget to tell me your experience post applying this setting.

    Here is the process given to me by my companies help desk:

    Run -> Notepad.exe
    Select -> File -> Open -> C:\Windows\Win.ini
    Add the following lines under in the existing document:

    MAPI=1
    CMC=1
    CMCDLLNAME=mapi.dll
    CMCDLLNAME32=mapi32.dll
    MAPIX=1
    MAPIXVER=1.0.0.1
    OLEMessaging=1
    Select -> File -> Save and the File -> Close

    Reboot the PC.

    I found that rebooting the PC was not necessary. I can now use the File -> send menu options to email documents from my office applications.

    Hope this helps

    The registry edit will solve your Send To problem, BUT...

    I installed it for a Beta test group and I'm seeing other problems. When trying to send a 2003 Compatibility Mode PowerPoint or Excel file, the file becomes an attachment in Notes with a 2007 format extension and will not open. The only solution so far is to manually attach the file to the message inside Notes.
