Network printer ping problem

bla
I have bought a new router, D-link DIR-655 and connected a HP4000 laserjet printer to the router. The router gives the printer a IP address 192.168.0.115. The printer config printout shows this IP address and the router
also sees the printer and shows the IP address. But when I sends a ping to the printer form the router it ?cant see the printer.
The same happens when i sends a ping from a dos
prompt? So no prints from this printer connected to this router.
With my older D-link router 614 I have no problems pinging and printing to the printer?
The sam problems also happens with a DIR-635?

is not set in the router and that the printer IP address is manually set to what you want. If DHCP is set in the router it will automatically assign an IP address to the printer.

My HP network printing problem has been solved. A friend of mine with knowledge of network located the problem to be the Dlink DIR-655 broadcast funktion. With the broadcast switched of I was able to ping the printer again and the printer could be used as a network printer again.
    But thanks for the reply.
