Turning off the warnings on the hub has stopped it bugging me. At least for a few days.

Does that affect the notification area icons? I thought it only disabled the UAC warnings about making changes.
I'll try it tonight anyway, and see how it goes.

in control panel. I have all my notifications turned off that way. Some folks aren't necessarily comfortable doing that, but you may be.http://windows.microsoft.com/en-CA/windows-vista/Turn-User-Account-Control-on-or-off
