Onboard and PCI-E Video combination??

chrismckenna
Hi all,
I've recently purchased a new i7 chip + RAM to go with it etc
all I wanted to know was....
My rather old PCI-E video card which is probably not as good as the Intel

Using the On Board Video requires the CPU to do the work of a GPU so you will not be allowing the CPU to do the work that it's there for or why you upgraded it to begin with if you require a lot of performance.

However if you require high end video the new M'Board just may provide better results.

Here it all depends on what it is you are doing.
