Other Users can't access drive, Permissions problem?

GedonDArms
Hi..., Wondering if someone could help me with my problem?

Users other than me(admin account) can't access the c drive., My brother and sister complains that they can't copy, move & delete anything when they use their account and a message box "C:/ is not accessible ACCESS IS DENIED" always pops up when they do. Their accounts are in the USERS Group.

Is their a problem with the permissions? coz i don't remember changing anything about the permissions of the user group.

And this is the irritating part, I tested the problem with creating a new account with Administrator privileges and tried to copy files from a flashdrive to the account's documents. Even with a new admin account the same message box appears.

Hope someone could suggest some solutions for this problem...

My suggestion is doing that first. This may likely be a virus. I've encountered several occasions of this happening. How many User Accounts are there? Have you set the access privileges on User Accounts? And what operating system is the computer on?

I've already ran several scans on my computer. I use Kaspersky Internet Security., it doesn't detect any particular virus that would seem to be the source of the problem.
there are 3 accounts, Mine, for Family use, and another for my brother and sister. I have 2 drives, one having 2 partitions and one being a whole. The whole is the C: Drive, the others are E: and F: Drives in the other drive. They can't access the C: and E: Drive.
I don't remember if i have set the access privileges on User Accounts and i don't remember either where that is. My os is Windows XP Professional SP3

Also try Malware Bytes again in Safe Mode and see if there is any Malware on the system.

If that's not the problem it could be a Recent Hot Fix that has changed permissions and you may need to remove that depending on the OS being used here.

    Hi GedonDArms,

Have you checked the NTFS permissions on both drives??
If not then loginto system as Admin and then
Right click on c:\ drive and click on Properties >>> Security>>> then see what permissions they have. Most likely Read only permissions. Change the permissions from there and it must fix the issue. and do it same with E:\ drive.
Let us know how did you go with it.

I logged in as admin and right clicked the C: drive, click on the properties, but didn't see the security option

go to windows explorer, go to tools, go to folder options, click View, uncheck the option " Use Simple FIle Sharing."
this will enable the security tab in the properties window.

Wow, it was as simple as that? When i uncheck the option in the folder options, and looked at the security option of the C: and E: drive, i saw that the permissions of Everyone was all unchecked., so i checked the Read and Write for the E: drive, well i didn't want other users to use the C: Drive so just put their files on the E:., i left the options for the C: unchecked, and gave them full access for E: and F:., Thanks for the Advice, appreciate it.., :)

I'm having the same problem, but when I go to folder options, there is no "Use Simple File Sharing"

Is there a reason it's not there or another way to fix this problem?

    Freezing Problem! can anyone help?
My Computer Freezes up when i select options "FULLSCREEN"...
Recently i have been having problems with my computer freezing up in the middle of a game. This first started when i was playing pcgame(which the settings is all in low quality and the window is in fullscreen), where in a particular level the game it suddenly froze., i had no choice but to force restart the computer and played again, but the same thing happened when i reached that same level of the game. I thought this may be a problem when installing the game, but when i uninstall and reinstalled the game the same problem occurred., So in the end i uninstalled the game completely from my computer.
I thought i wouldn't encounter that freezing stuff, but wrong again was I, when the same problem occurred when i was playing an Online Game (which was in fullscreen). I checked the net to see if their something their i can learn about. I read that it may be because of the Registry., so i used registry cleaner programs like ScanReg and tuneup regcleaner and tried to play the game again., In a particular duration of time playing the game, freezing still happened.
Now i couldn't play pcgames that needs installation and online games because of my computer freezing problem might happen. I also thought it happens only on games, but big suprise, when i was watching movies on YouTube, when i click the option of Fullscreen, boom! Freeze! this is how it goes:
    TODAY (MAY,5,2011)
    Watch in youtube(in Full screen)
    Watch in youtube(in Full screen)
    Watch in youtube(in Full screen)
    Watch in youtube(in Full screen)
    Watch in youtube(in Full screen)
(I watched one after the other)
In the Fifth time i watched in youtube in fullscreen, that problem occurred. Force restart, then tried the link again in fullscreen then the same thing happened again.
I tried playing other games that didn't need installation in a small window and i played for hours unend.
I can normally watch youtube without thinking about the computer freezing problem when it isn't in fullscreen.
    In short:
Freezing has a high possibility of happening when the setting is in FULLSCREEN.
Can anyone help solve this freezing problem?
