Outlook 2003

Hi,
Currently when ever our users log into a new computer for the first time they have to setup there mail box in exchange. Isn't there a way to make it so when they log in there outlook is automaticly setup and ready to go for them with out them having to do anything? I'm using Exchange 2003/Win 2003 ENT with client Outlook2003.thanks for the help.

... or, should we say, challenges here. If a user logs into a new computer for the first time, their profile does not exist in that computer. Usually the mailbox is stored locally and the mailbox has to be set up by the installation program. An application like Outlook has numerous registry entries which have to be created and included in the profile.

There are ways to push the settings and files to the new profile and the hard drive of the PC. Applications can be imaged with tools like Novell Zenworks, Wise Package Studio and WinInstall so that the Application Launcher or the component managing the user's desktop does the job, instead of the installation or the setup program of the application.

Well I know what you?re going through. I work in the IT Dept. at a large Hospital and we get numerous calls about getting email setup. I found that the best answer would be this link: <http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/orkXP/HA011364241033.aspx> otherwise, as far as other routes I'm looking into "Outlook Deployment options, customizing a PRF FILE" But its not the best to read up on. If you can I would follow the link listed that seems to be the best solution. Every article I come across says to "Customizing an Outlook Installation". I hope that helps.
