Outlook 2013 - Duplicate messages appear in the sent folder when forwarding

demonjrules
Have a client who has an IMAP account on his outlook 2013. Whenever he forwards an email to someone, there is a duplicate of that message in his sent items folder. Reply, reply all or new mail just shows up as one message but when he forwards it shows up twice. The message is only sent once on the server.

In the sent folder...
1. One of the duplicate messages has the full email address in single quotes of the person he forwarded it to in the TO field with "0 B" in the SIZE field
2. The other one of the duplicates has the name of the person he forwarded it to in his address book in the TO field and "8 KB" in the SIZE field

Any ideas?

Most likely caused by a communication issue between the client and the mail server or Outlook is in cached mode.

This may happens because your are sending mail via the SMTP server of Gmail and have Outlook configured to safe a copy of each Sent Item. As all the messages that you sent via the Gmail SMTP server also stores a copy in your Sent Items folder of the Gmail account, you’ll end up with duplicates

The first solution is to sent mails via SMTP server of own ISP instead of using SMTP server of Gmail. Secondary option is to disable the option “Do not save copies of sent items “

Steps to disable this option Outlook 2013
File >> Account Setting >>Account setting >>Select Gmail Account >>Button change >> Button More setting >> Tab Advanced >> Option: Do not save copies of sent items

This isn't gmail, its our companies exchange server. When I set the "Do not save copies of sent items" setting I don't see any of the emails.
