Sorry, but you can't. OE is an email program. It is not like a web based email address (yahoo, msn, gmail, etc..) where you cant tell the server to reject all mail if it doesn't come from one of your "contacts". Using Outlook Express, you are usually downloading email from your ISP and they do not have access to your address book (or, at least they shouldn't have). So, they send you the mail, OE receives it.

What you CAN do though is create a message rule that checks all mail and if it originates "from senders in specified address book", it goes into the inbox... all others are put in the deleted items or junk mail folder where you can check them before you actually delete them.

This, of course, means that you still have to wait for all of those emails to download to your computer.

Now, if you are using OE to download email from one of the web based email providers (yahoo, msn, etc...), you CAN go configure that server to send all mail that did not come from one of your contacts to the junk mail. Of course, this means that if one of your friends changes their email address OR even changes the "sent from" name, their email will be junked/deleted. They won't ever be able to tell you that they've changed their email address.

Thank you, if it was there I would have found it!! Today I set up "Spam Blocker" and set up a "contact list" for it. Do you have any experience with that?

Now as for "message rules" do I put "from senders in specified address book" for the rule? I use the message rules a lot and qould love for this to wrk.

thanks so much for your time.
