I had a similar problem. So, let me share what it was and what I did, so it can serve as a starting point.

Issue: OS, Windows Vista Home Premium, CQ Presario: Font "Arial" doesn’t support style "Regular" when trying to open User Guides from within Help and Support and unable to see this content

Cause: deleted / lost Arial.TTF font file, among other possible causes

      Resolution:

Restart Windows and login to Administrator account
Click to Start, Computer, Windows and FONTS directory
Click to Start, All Programs, Accessories, Command Prompt and in DOS window, type CD\
      Type DIR ARIA*.* /S
Note the directory name and/or go to DOS border, right-click EDIT / MARK, then COPY from DOS and PASTE to address field in other Explore window
Find ARIAL.TTF in this other window and copy to FONTS window
      Restart Windows Vista

I opened Help and Support and click to open User Guides: when they opened, this issue was corrected.
