Hi all, new here, looks a great site.
Ok down to my problem, when i right click on the mouse on a folder, a windows installer tries to download updates from adobe acrobat, and after trying to install it,it states it cannot find the correct directory.
I don't really want to update acrobat as i have the latest pro8 version, but secondly it is getting very annoying when everytime i right click anything the windows installer starts.
Anyone have any ideas how i can stop this.

Thanx in advance.

And not necessarily available in the first Version 8 that was made available. For this reason it regally performs an update to have the latest offerings in it so you are getting exactly what you pay for.

Since you have paid for the Pro version of Adobe you should keep it updated to the newest version available or you are effectively wasting your money and will be unable to use all of the features that are made available in that application.

Now for your problem if every time that you right click on any folder you get the Adobe Update Wizard running Adobe hasn't been installed properly or there is a Windows Load error.

The easy solution here is to run an application that fixes Windows Load errors and see if this cures the problem. There is a Utility called system Mechanic available as a 30 Day trial that you can use here to fix Windows Load errors and you can download the trial version from here

Now this is a full working version so you need to be cautious as it has the ability to damage any Windows Install if improperly used. The main thing to avoid here is the Remove Duplicate Files as this will stop the system from booting. There is a Pro version of this product and the only difference is that it has an AV Product built in so if you have no intention of buying the product don't download & install the Pro version but if you buy the product because you find it useful it may be worth the difference in price for the Pro version depending on what AV Product you are currently running.

If you have Norton's System Works installed System Doctor will do the same thing. I'm not sure about any other products that will do as good a job as I haven't had a need to try anything else but both of the above work very well.

Once you run the Scanner and Repair Agent over your system this should cure your problem. If it doesn't you'll need to delete Adobe 8 Pro and clean up the system reboot and the install the product again then run the System Repair Agent over the computer to make sure that you don't have any Load errors.
