Setting printer margins in Internet explorer 7/Outlook Express 6

BlueLenin
I have a client with XP Professional SP2 using Internet explorer 7 and Outlook Express 6.Since IE7 although printed emails from OE are all on the page the margins all round are less than 1cm. When attemping to adjust the margins in IE7 through File/Page layout, they are not only "odd" and bear no relationship to what actually prints, but refuse to be altered i.e. you can change them, click OK to save, but if you re-open the dialogue box they have all returned to their previous odd settings.

Does anyone have any wisdom to share on this one?

You can adjust the print margins for printing an Outlook Express email by adjusting the margins in Internet Explorer. under File/Page Setup.

Has anyone found a solution to this problem because I am having the same problem? IE7 will not save changes to the margins in page setup.

I have several PCs all with this issue, but any preloaded laptops in the office do not seem to get this "margins resetting after a save issue". It's odd, I cannot think what might have been setup differently. Could it have something to do with regional setting, so inches are confused with millimetres. Even changing the registry directly does not fix issue. I have found it is not specific to a printer and even happens using something like PDF995 (a print to PDF driver). I suspect the problem is with MSIE or WINXP configuration, and MSOLEXP is just a victim of the defect rather than root cause. Others have reported IE7/OUTLOOK combinations getting this issue too (my case IE6/outlook 6). Could it be specific to only WIN XP PRO volume license. Let me know if you have an non-VLK build and this problem too.

Surely someone knows a fix for this?

I am having this issue on 1 computer. I can go to File/page setup and the right and left margins I can change and as soon as I click somewhere else on the page they go back to the default which is the page size. 8.5X11. I can change the top and bottom margin but not those 2. Anything on the internet that I try to print comes out looking like a label.
This thread is pretty old, does no one have a fix?
