Either the computer that you are getting the slow download speeds with is in a bad location and getting a poor signal slowing the download speeds or the USB Port you are using in it is a older USB Type and limiting the possible speeds.
If the USB Port is on a Fly Lead that is a lead from the M'Board to the front of the case it will be USB1 and be slow. You should try plugging into a USB Port on the M'Board like the ones in the back of a desktop computer.
As for poor signal strength the only option is to try a USB Extension Lead and try to position the dongle in a location where it gets a better signal or move the computer.

Slow speed of 3G Dongle
Recently I have purchased 3 Dongle which says Download speed upto 7.2 Mbps. When I use it in my PC I am not getting speed over 250 Kbps. When I checked it on another Laptop I got speed upto 3.2 Mbps. My system configuration is Pentium Dual Core Processor with 1.6 GHz speed, RAM of 1 GB. I am using Windows XP (Service Pack 3). The Laptop on which I checked was running on Windows 7 with 4 GB RAM. Processor was Intel Core i3 and 2.4 GHz speed. What should I do to get better internet speed?
