SM Bus controller problem

stere538
Hi there I am just wondering if someone could help me with my SM bus controller. I just recently reinstalled windows and my SM bus controller is telling me that its not functioning properly. At the same time video games are also crashing despite the fact I've just bought a Geforce 7600GT graphics card and a new power supply to cope with it.

Stats of my computer are:
CPU: AMD Athlon XP 3000+
Computer: ACPI Uniprocessor PC
1 Gig ram

I bought my computer a couple years ago from someone who had 'built' it so im not entirely sure who the manufacturer is or what website I should go to if im meant to find drivers somewhere.

I'd REALLY appreciate any help anyone can give!

Cheers!
Reuben.

There should have been several Install CD's with it and at the very least 2 user manuals as well. What you really need here is the driver disk for the M'Board and use that to apply any drivers that Windows is unable to install as they are not part of Windows.

If you are unable to find the User Manual for the M'Board or the CD then you can find the Makers Name and Model Number from the BIOS String on the screen but if you have a splash screen coming up you'll need to enter BIOS and turn it off.

Post back if you need to find the M'Board maker and list the full BIOS string an I'll tell you who made the M'Board and what model it is. The BIOS String will have something like Award then a bunch of numbers but that could read Award, Phoenix, AMI or maybe some other name but they are the 3 big ones and are the most likely.
