Consider the fact that you did not mentioned the router model it is kind of hard to give detailed instructions.
Rull of thumbs is to consult your router manual it will usually answer all your questions.
You also did not mentioned from where you are running your firewall as you will need to set up a rule to block the PC you want.
I am going to assume that you are running a firewall on your router.
You will then need to log into your router, go to the firewall menu, and look for an "access control" title or something close to that where you can set and access control rule for a pc via an IP address or MAC address.

    Chief,
    Router is AZTECH
    Model: DES 1008D
    Current firmware Version: 21.6.5

The gateway os 10.0.0.2 but we do not have a comp with that ip address. There is no firewall either. How do I check if there is a firewall? The router uses a Dlink switch. Hope this helps. I checked the router settings by logging on to the gateway ip that is 10.0.0.2 it does show the mac addresses but there is no way to block it. Any clue. Please treat me like a lamer. Thanks

    Hi

    animatech

    Sorry mate
The model that you gave me is the switch model (D-Link DES1008D) which explain why you can see the MAC address but cannot find any way to block them.
As for your router this should be a different name.
I have looked on AZTECH site trying to find some helpful notes but without the correct model not much I can do.

    Hi

You will need to log into your router.
    Go to Security page.
Go to Bridge "Filtering Configurations" page.
To Block: Enter the Source MAC address and select Block. Click Add to add the filter. This will cause the incoming WAN and LAN ethernet packets that matches with this address to be filtered out.
You will have to play with this a bit as they not offered to much information (And the bit they offered was hard to find:))
But I think you should try to put the source address as the PC address and the destination address as your router MAC address.
for TYPE put in TCP and this should block internet access from the PC.
