The best enterprise virus scan/internet security software is......???

Mark2.0
I am looking for experienced opinions of the best enterpise virus scan
software for a Wndows XP/ Server 03 environment. I also want a
program that can assist me with internet monitoring over computers on
my network so we can regain some productivity without shutting down
access to the internet. I have reviewed Pearl Echo and Spectort360. Any
suggestions about these or others????

We use McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.0i and EPolicy Orchestra (EPO). EPO is good for managing settings and deploying DAT and program updates for Windows XP or 2003.

We use Kaspersky in my companies network and honestly we infected a few machines on a local network when the new version came out to see how effective it was and put norton, mcafee, AVG, and another two that my boss had found and they all found one or two infections, kaspersky found all of the ones we had placed in the machines. Mind you no antivirus software is a good tool to disenfect but as far as prevention and detection kaspersky is tops at least in our testing.

We have used SOPHOS (www.sophos.com) for as long as I've been employed at this office (6+ yrs) with NO infections resulting in network down time. The Enterprise Management (EM) utility is very easy to use and deploy and will push the AV software to the desktop and update by the hour. Any trojans/viruses that did make it to the desktop were immediately quarantined and notifications sent to IT in real time. For Internet management, we use a WatchGuard firewall hardware solution.

Has anyone tried the MX Logic solution? My organization is currently using their Spam Filtering service and their Web Defense service for Internet content filtering. We are considering using their anti-virus service but would like some user feedback on this if anyone has any experience with them.

We are very happy with the spam/content filtering solution! The only drawback with the content filtering is that at this time it does not support roaming profiles.

    Any feedback would be appreciated!

You should try the zonealarm it's an antivirus, antispyware, and internet security all in one, it is a very good product.

about internet monitoring it's not so easy, because the most softwares, just monitorize the router and it's activity, but you can't know what computer is using the network.

Thanks for the reply tia! I currently use ZoneAlarm's Internet Security Suite at home and like that Kaspersky Labs is now part of their anti-virus solution but it really hogs my system resources when it scans my system.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from Trend. Way too many problems with the Officescan software on client machines.

I beg to differ. CDW recommended we try Trend a year ago when we replaced our Symantec corporate, and it's been great. It automatically removed most of the Norton AVs from 300 clients, has a great admin panel, is not resource intensive...we stayed away from Vista though, so maybe that is where your problems are. We are only running XP and some old Win 2k until Win 7 comes out. Stay away from Vista!

I switched to Sunbelt Vipre, very low resource on the server, can push to all workstations from the server or with the counsel installed on your workstation you can monitor everyone . You can track each workstation and usage of the internet and what sites they go to. http://sunbeltsoftware.com

Well, In our company we use Symantec Endpoint Protection, it has an AV, Anti-Spyware, FW, IPS and device control with a great reporting capability.
You need more than just an AV for an enterprise.

For internet monitoring and filtering you have the best two applications: Websense & GFI

    Use use Websense.
