Two modems for faxing

ethan.lerner
Hi, we want to set up internet faxing using XP's built in fax program.
However it is very important that our incoming line is never interrupted therefore we need to have seperate incoming and outgoing lines.
To do this I assume we need two modem cards ( I guess one modem card and VOIP could be an option). I am wondering if XP's built in service provides this or would we need to go another option?

Thanks for the help!

You dont need 2 lines just for faxes
Use one modem plugged to VoIP to send and receive faxes, then there will be no interruption of your "normal" phone service
XP includes necessary software to auto answer etc

Thanks for the help, but we aren't worried about normal phone service. What we are worried about is if we are sending a fax, does that have the potential or interupting an incoming fax?

Thanks!

While doing some research, it seems that VoIP is not the most reliable faxing method at the moment, and we need as small of a chance of there being transmission errors.

if your company is so intent on transmission errors, just get two phone lines.

if it's _that_ mission critical, then it should be worth it to your company.

you can't have your cake, eat it, and then have a glass of milk without paying for it
