What does "You have reached your maximum message level." mean?

wrleeii
I have a thread of a question I had posed, here on TechRepublic. I was gonna reply to someone that posted, but instead of a Reply button, the red message, "You have reached your maximum message level." is there instead. I am able to respond to others' questions and, of course, post this one... why did I max out on the other thread?

OH Smeg

When this happens you can either chose the Post above that isn't on the seventh Level or pose else where in the same thread.

What is the purpose of of TR showing an error message when there is no explanation as to how to proceed, i gave up mind reading years ago.

They should not assume that all TR readers are experts.

Eventually there is no more screen room for further posts to continue indenting to the right.

To solve the problem, simply answer a Post from further up the thread, or even the original Post. You can start your Title with the NAME of whoever you were intending answering - you'll soon get the drift of it. :)
