what is the best way to deal with customer's pc remotely

pentrex
I am going to be given am assignment to fix a customer's PC and it got to be done remotely (Internet connections OK). What is the best way to deal with the situation if the customer is absolutely PC illiterate. Remote Desktop, Remote Assistance, Telnet , VNC etc. would be just useless as these tools require some customer involvement but all my customer knows is just how to turn on his computer and how to open his Browser . Is there ways allowing one to get an access to someone's computer without the second party being involved, or at least involved at the simplest level ?

No there is not even with the Security Flawed Windows OS. No matter what is used some User Interaction is involved by the Remote Computers user.

There are many Remote Utilities like PC Anywhere that are available for this purpose but with them all you need to first have physical access to the computer to set it up for what is required.

In the past I have tried to offer remote Phone support and walk the user through installing Remote Control Software but it has always ended in disaster and not been overly useful. I find it's easier to just do it yourself and then remote in as required.

also have remote capabilities. It requires end-user involvement, but I've always been able to talk anyone through it, even the most clueless. Once you're in, it's easy.

Teamviewer could work, it takes very little user intervention on your customer's side.

Agreed. But I doubt something good will come up with this. My customer reports he has a problem with his hot-mail account because of a recent virus attack on his computer. I simply have no other choices but going to his place and this is four hours one way.....sigh

    Try Copilot: https://www.copilot.com/

I just used it for a very computer illiterate friend of mine and she was able to install and connect easily.
