What is the meaning of life

Slayer_
I know Dr Who said it was to keep meat fresh, but that can't be true, so what is the real meaning?

It can be related to only one other state. I shouldn't need to tell you what that is. If, rather, you go with inherence, you go in circles.

The term "meaning of life" is inseparable from our philosophical and religious beliefs of existence, consciousness, and happiness, and touches on many other issues, such as symbolic meaning, value, purpose, ethics, good and evil, free will, conceptions of God, the existence of God, the soul, and the afterlife.

A lot of it hinges on the concept of ontology, meaning that what we perceive as reality may or may not be real. (See the film 'The Matrix')

It depends, too, on whether an individual believes we are merely living creatures, in which case the meaning of life is to survive long enough to produce more of the same.

The more enlightened individual may have loftier goals, such as to believe that one's purpose is to make the world a better place, to bring joy to others, or to reduce suffering in the world.

Personally, give me an unlimited supply of cold beer, a fast computer, and enough money so I don't have to do interior painting, and I'm all set. :)

some people question whether the world is too mucked up to bring new defenseless meatbags into it, others think it's their duty to breed an army of cyber-warriors, and others seem to have taken that 'be fruitful and multiply' advice a little too seriously. The gene pool has both deep and shallow ends, the filtration system is broken, and it needs muuuuch more chlorine.

It doesn't really have any meaning, unless you decide to give it a meaning.
Therefore: while alive, try to have fun. And help others to have fun, too!

Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more: it is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
    Signifying nothing.

Why are we here? What's life all about?
Is God really real, or is there some doubt?
Well, tonight, we're going to sort it all out,
For, tonight, it's 'The Meaning of Life'.

What's the point of all this hoax?
Is it the chicken and the egg time? Are we just yolks?
Or, perhaps, we're just one of God's little jokes.
Well, ?a c'est 'The Meaning of Life'.

Is life just a game where we make up the rules
While we're searching for something to say,
Or are we just simply spiralling coils
Of self-replicating DN-- nay, nay, nay, nay, nay, nay, nay.

What is life? What is our fate?
Is there a Heaven and ****? Do we reincarnate?
Is mankind evolving, or is it too late?
Well, tonight, here's 'The Meaning of Life'.

For millions, this 'life' is a sad vale of tears,
Sitting 'round with really nothing to say
While the scientists say we're just simply spiralling coils
Of self-replicating DN-- nay, nay, nay, nay, nay, nay, nay.

So, just why-- why are we here,
And just what-- what-- what-- what do we fear?
Well, ce soir, for a change, it will all be made clear,
For this is 'The Meaning of Life'. C'est le sens de la vie.
This is 'The Meaning of Life'.

Just remember that you're standing on a planet that's evolving
And revolving at nine hundred miles an hour,
That's orbiting at nineteen miles a second, so it's reckoned,
A sun that is the source of all our power.
The sun and you and me and all the stars that we can see
Are moving at a million miles a day
In an outer spiral arm, at forty thousand miles an hour,
Of the galaxy we call the "Milky Way".

Our galaxy itself contains a hundred billion stars.
It's a hundred thousand light years side to side.
It bulges in the middle, sixteen thousand light years thick,
But out by us, it's just three thousand light years wide.
We're thirty thousand light years from galactic central point.
We go 'round every two hundred million years,
And our galaxy is only one of millions of billions
In this amazing and expanding universe.

The universe itself keeps on expanding and expanding
In all of the directions it can whizz
As fast as it can go, at the speed of light, you know,
Twelve million miles a minute, and that's the fastest speed there is.
So remember, when you're feeling very small and insecure,
How amazingly unlikely is your birth,
And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space,
'Cause there's bugger all down here on Earth.

There must be other universes, sure, then its not "Uni" it would be a Multiverse.

But there is nothing saying that there wasn't more than 1 big bang event.
