Why does my Internet Explorer shut down while surfing on certain sites?

tinamueller67
Before it shuts down it will give the Internet Explorer window which reads: Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

When I click the link (click here) which allows to reads the report, it reads:

Error Signature:

AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 7.0.7530.11 ModName: kernel32.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.2945 Offset: 00012a5b

Any ideas? Anyone?
Thanks a lot,

Simply put, your message indicates that you are using Internet Explorer 7, which is most likely your problem. The built-in plug-ins and utilities for IE7 have proven to cause quite a lot of difficulty with various websites and applications. My suggestion would be to uninstall the IE7 update (if you updated to IE7, you should be able to find the Internet Explorer 7 Update listed in Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs. If you do not see it right away, be sure to check the box "Show Updates" at the top right-hand side of the window.) After uninstalling Internet Explorer 7, you should be able to reboot the system, and everything will have reverted to IE6. If you recently purchased the computer and did not previously have Internet Explorer 6 on the machine, you can download it from Microsoft at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=1e1550cb-5e5d-48f5-b02b-20b602228de6&displaylang=en .
    Good luck.

Because it's trying to free up resources on your computer automatically so you can open a new browser window and go to: http://www.mozilla.org where you will be able to download a copy of firefox. All your problems will be fixed in about 3 minutes.

Don't fall victim to the Browser warfare too quickly. My first suggestion would be to downgrade your browser as suggested before. If you like the IE functionality, you should keep it. However, if you are looking for alternatives you can try out the FireFox 2 browser, or there is Opera (www.opera.com). When Microsoft ran IE7 as a critical update, a lot of users were given something they didn't ask for...for those who had no problems with the previous versions of Internet Explorer and aren't neccessarily looking for change, downgrade back to version 6 and continue to browse like you always have.

    IE7 - Tools - Internet Options - Programs - Manage Add-ons.

But in this list i cant find QUICKfind BHO Object. Is there any other name on it? Or anything else i can try?

    Hello bhs,

You could try disable all add-ons (one at a time) until you can no longer reproduce the problem..

I hope this solves that damned problem :-))
