Windows XP System Security In The Logout State.

Compumind
Hi everybody -

When you logout into the Welcome screen in Windows XP, is it possible for a security breach (attack) in that "idle" state?

I wonder if XP itself permits or denies any inbound/outbound network traffic during this period. Unfortunately, I cannot locate an answer to this question.

What about Vista, as well?

TIA!

That it is still open to attacks, even if my computer vista or xp is at the logon screen I can still RDP or VNC into the machine.

So the machine in question will permit inbound and outbound connections, you would need to power the machine down.

    Hope this helps you out.
