Wireless adapter or Virus ?? Posting again as no one seem to respond

I have a unique problem of not able to connect onto the net.

I have a desktop and a notebook which reset or reboots as long as I attach a USB wireless adapter or press the wireless button respectively. Both using windows xp as OS.

However, for this notebook, while use in the office, this rebooting did not happened and is able to connect to the net freely.

I have used Trend Micro to scan the harddisk remotely using another pc or notebook but no virus found.

I have other notebooks at home which has no such connection problems.

Can anyone advise what is wrong to the desktop and the specific notebook..

Maybe nobody replied to the original post because nobody has a solution for you.

Perhaps, if you gave us more specific information, someone could help.

Which version of XP? Patches up to date?

What are the hardware configurations for each computer?

If you plug this specific USB wirelss adapter into a 3rd computer, what happens?

Have you tried uninstalling or removing your usb controllers through Device Manager? and reinstalled them? What devices are you attaching through your usb connections? Also you said that from your office you are able to connect. Have you checked that you have the correct DNS settings and the correct default gateway?

Hope this helps, let me know.

    Thanks,
