XP Mode Application When Windows 7 Host Shutdown Occurs

Daniel T00
Greetings,
I was wondering if anyone has any ideas to solve this:
I have a Windows 7 computer running a custom-made application within "XP Mode" virtualization. This application starts with Windows 7 and must remain running.

When the user attempts to shut down the workstation, Windows 7 issues a warning that the application is still running, and requests the user to Force Close.
This does not negatively impact the application, but is a nuisance to the user.

I would like the application to shut down automatically when the host computer is shutting down. The application is developed in VB 6, in which it is possible to receive a message that the OS is shutting down - but this would only work for ITS host OS, not the Windows 7 OS behind XP Mode.

This is quite a puzzle for me, and I'm wondering if there's anything to be done about it.

Any advice would be most welcome. Thanks.
