TSA oddity

john.a.wills
Recently at Glasgow Airport the UK's TSA (I forget its proper initials) only slightly embarrassed, handed me my yellow highlighter, broken in passage through the inspection machine. I think TSA work is a great pest, but this is the first time I have had something broken. I am not at all sure how it got broken (the pens and the pencil with it came through unscathed (is there a verb "scathe"?)).

Has anyone else had things broken by TSAs?
