Recommendation: Stake and Scorch.
EDIT: One of the flagged targets is down. PTB is on the move.

It isn't often we see Palmie take that kind of stand.

I do believe that I am aware of the situation you reference. What I learned by reading those particular views is that some people need a grip followed by a blast from the clue bat.

My assessment of the individual's intelligence was different than yours. What struck me immediately was that this person was probably a bully in their younger days and possibly continues to be. His statements certainly trended to off topic, rude, and inappropriate to the forum... but that's just my opinion.

*sigh*

to the par.#
I rate them in three kinds:
dumb, not-dumb, ravenous.
The not-dumb are the most dangerous variety, in terms of delivering poison to the ears of the unwary.
The ravenous are sometimes people with a corrupt intellect, but their corruption is pretty apparent, so they don't influence people so well.
Of course, they're all corrupted, but some of them manage to hide it.# Off to bed. Take care, all.

could you please post a link to that users profile? I checked for report emails, and most links in those emails are bringing up blank pages. I searched for the user name, and this discussion and some white paper is all that comes up.

Thank you.

I'll try to remember that next time.
EDIT:someone had a nice little name change. You can see the one post that's left in that thread; I didn't flag that one because it's not offensive. Maybe you can tell why that worried me. http://www.techrepublic.com/members/profile/6514046?tag=discussion-thread

I seem to remember seeing borderline posting by one such user:"open your eyes" before... could be a periodical.

BTW the poster has one borderline post left; http://www.techrepublic.com/forum/discussions/102-341112-3417385 -It's one that seems very vague, but now that the trend is clear it can be taken to be a call to overthrow ethnic majorities and/or subjugate ethnic minorities.

Or the contagion?
This wasn't about SEO, someone was disseminating high-grade propaganda, and managing to post in an almost normal tone, at the same time...
We in europe have to protect our democracy from certain things that the US has some historical inocculation against. Here, legends about the osmannic invasion and to some extent, the huns before that, and the legacy of a century of various anti middle eastern propagandists present a real danger (building seamlessly on Goebbels, and the antisemitic rhetoric of centuries past - semi-ironically).
You've heard about what happened in Hungary, right? We're still waiting to see if they'll play nice once their popularity wears off, and there are other sleeper movements everywhere, semi-harmless as long as the founding kookoo is in charge, but very dangerous once they find a charismatic face to replace that kookoo.
If that's not what you meant, please feel free to clue(bat) me in ...

can I also assume you refer to such as the DPP in Denmark?

Some of their positions make me wonder if that's the same country that resisted the Germans in such a unique manner.

They've felt that not putting up a (futile) fight against nazi occupation was some sort of blemish on (some kind of) national honor (whatever that is, anyway)...
They do take pride in the rescue of the jews, but they do not realize that the jews could never have been rescued if the army had stood and died against the invasion. That would have led to the nazis immediately rounding up all the jews... no need to play nice.
Now the danish civil servants had time to cultivate informants in the occupation forces, and the underground had time to establish escape and smuggling routes.
It could not have been done, other than this way.

... and no-one needed to die in a futile propaganda victory for the "glorious" third reich armies.

That's very sad. I could write a lot about that, as you can probably surmise

What good would fighting have done other than make some people feel good about themselves today? Christian X had the sense to see that armed resistance was futile. The resistance that came about had much greater effect.

Nobody I've ever talked to has said "Gee, sucks that you didn't take an asswhipping from Hitler!"...
But some Danes have issues with it... I think maybe these someones have small wieners, or something.
<rant>
Take the Nato Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen; he held a speech at a remembrance ceremony for the rescue of the danish Jews, in which he blabs out that the "active" resistance were the ones with the "right answer". "Active" meaning violent.
Which is interesting in many ways.
First of all the rescue of the Jews was not violent. A danish civil servant got the heads-up from his german counterpart, put the word out, and an evacuation plan was put into motion. It was all about information and coordination, not blowing up railroads (nothing wrong with that, as such).
At the same time, most of the very "active" resistance were stalinists whose "right answer" involved throwing out the nazis and joining the soviet union! Nice of the Neo-Liberal Fogh to be so forgiving of his party's archnemesises...
The things people can get themselves to say to alleviate an imaginary accusation.
Not that there was anything wrong with the active resistance, it's just that the most effective resistance actions were cerebral and social engineering, and this they want to hush up.
