| Installing the Windows Support Tools is a snap. To do so, just insert your Windows XP CD into the drive. When you see the introduction screen, select the Perform Additional Tasks option. On the second screen, select the Browse This CD option. At this point, you’ll see Windows Explorer showing you the contents of the CD. To continue, open the Support/Tools folder and double-click on the Setup.exe file. You’ll then see the Windows Support Tools Setup Wizard and you can just follow along for the rest of the setup. When you’re prompted to select an installation type, be sure to select the Complete option. When you do, the Windows Support Tools will be installed in the C:\Program Files\Support Tools folder. This folder is then added to the Path statement environment variable, making it possible for you to run any of the Windows Support Tools’ command-line utilities from a Command Prompt window. |
