I started in the computer industry after injuring my back. I was unable to work in my previous field, Retail, because of the back injury. That injury enabled me to return to school and get my Associates in IT. My first position after interning was as a tech professional for a small health care college affiliated with a local Hospital. There, I supported approximately 200 PC's for two years without any other support professionals. This included supporting 90 Faculty and staff and 500 students. It also included a migration from Windows 98 to Windows XP. By the time I left the position, I had the responsibility of about 300 computers with 125 faculty and staff and 800 students. Thankfully, The college also hired another professional. Before leaving, I had the experience of upgrading the NT domain to Active Directory with the aid of the Hospital's server management staff. Currently, I am a Network Administrator for an Accounting Firm that has about 50 people. I am responsible for everything from desktops to switches and everything in between. I have recently installed a Linux server from Scratch. Further, we are exploring Virtualization options. My biggest accomplishment to date is planning and executing a migration from an email application called Office-Logic to Exchange 2003.
