i found where i made my mistake, it was robotics the asomoviscredited with, not robot, and of course the three(four) lwas of robotics. however, i suggest the faulty languse of the 'image' thread of 'introduced to main stream'. the play opened in prague, and i think the a lot of people would disagree w/ the possibility the the locals of 1921 would not be writing or even talking about robots, and then therefore, it wouldn't have been main stream at that time. it wasn't until the death of capek in 1938 that the play was picked up for tv in britain then in 1958 as a colloection of braodway plays. by this time asimov had truely introduced the term into main stream use. unfortunately, i mis-represented and dis-remembered(?) what i read, but it is still the other points that i defend as my opinion of 'main stream use'.

I wrote a paper about meteroid bombing back in 1971; using Trans-Linear Accelerators to bomb the Earth instead of nuclear weapons. The idea being that there would at least be no radiation. I knew I couldn't have been the first one to dream that one up.

You may be thinking of string theory; it went out the window for "membranes" which is just a multi-dimensional shift from string actually.

Ultimately when theorists concentrated on the mathmatical probablilities that the 11th dimension was the key; that is when all the math fell into place.

This discovery also supports the original "science fiction" idea of parallel universes! I never thought that idea would be anywhere near proven in my lifetime!

The latest work now indicates that physics can predict (without experimentation of course), what may have happend BEFORE the big bang!

Some modelers are just now setting up experiments that take advantage of the new mathmatical break through. It goes to show, in my opinion that all science fiction should be pulled into one catagory - fiction/fact.
