I don't mind that you allow advertisements to pay for the site, but I really object to a delayed "pop-in" of a banner add that forces everything on the page to jump down by a chunk just as soon as I start reading, then (sometimes) jump up again a moment later. Please set your HTML to inform the rendering agent as to the sizes of all pics, frames etc. on initial load so that it doesn't need to jump about as it renders the page.

This is especially painful reading on mobile devices, but still painful on desktop.
