Top cover removed
Now remove the seven Phillips screws that hold the PlayStation 3's black plastic case together. Arrows on the plastic cover indicate the proper screws to remove.
Unlike Nintendo's Wii, which uses several Tri-wing screws throughout the system, the PS3 uses only standard Phillips screws inside the case. This dramatically simplifies disassembly and reassembly.
