Firefox to change its look--again

One of my biggest complaints about IE is the near-total lockdown of icons, buttons, toolbars, search boxes, etc. The ability to customize those to my preferences is one of the reasons Firefox is my preferred browser. As long as I can continue to push things around to my satisfaction, I don't care how it looks by default.

I've been a Firefox user for a long time, following a few years of using Netscape back in the 90s. I agree with a previous poster that it's more important and more beneficial to fix performance issues first. How about addressing the fact that Firefox doesn't always render pages correctly, and then we are forced to open the page in another browser, i.e. IE?

Fix the engine, and let the FF community introduce new Themes and Personas to allow users to change the look of the browser ... if they CHOOSE to.

When I loaded this page, IE didn't load it completely, and when I pressed F5 to reload it, I was greeted by a message telling me that due to a problem with the web page, IE had recovered the tab. That has become almost the norm with IE. However, the norm with FireFox has become failure to load the page at all without my stopping the page load and refreshing several times. (No, my computer doesn't have malware on it, and if you don't count the reloads, FireFox is certainly faster.) My point is, the current state of IE, is a real opportunity for another browser to bury it; but instead of using that opportunity Mozilla sees fit to change the FireFox look? When is someone going to figure out that after a few uses, no-one notices the eye candy anymore, but they notice the wretched performance every time.

Microsoft keeps changing things; but no version of their OS and Office Suite have ever been completely fixed before being changed. Because Linux is doing the same thing, they're also missing the opportunity to take over. What was that about "doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results"?

After all, earthquakes, hurricanes and tornadoes bring lots of change, too.

What you describe could apply to Facebook too.
