Yet another set of images with zero explanation of what we're seeing. I realize there must be pressure to get something "out there", to try to stay on top of the ever-changing tech world, but even a simple image caption would be helpful. Sure, some of the images are self-evident, but please, some words on what we're looking at...

I totally agree. Captions, even short ones are better than wasting my time with "OK, I guess I'll make up my own story."

From looking at the photos at MS.com, I spotted what appears to be:
> set of stereo speakers (1 each opposite sides)
> headphone
> 1 USB (v2/v3?)
> 1 Mini-HDMI
> stereo microphones on top?
> power switch
> cameras on front (with a light sensor) and back
> 2 5-pin (magnetic?) connections -- for data and/or power -- one is used for the keyboard, perhaps the other for power cord

Typical of microsoft. Only Apple brings new innovations to this industry.

Again, MS tries to re-create what Apple has so successfully already done: Trying to re-create The iPad. Stealing the ideas behind it, like Samsung (&, of course, Google) did Again and again, stealing Apple's ideas (since the eighties).

Title of the article is a lie. Hands-on means using a working product. This is just looking at mock-ups or prototypes. Does this website has no editors?

Honesty and integrity is lacking in this reporting. Does anybody care or this has become acceptable state of affairs in the modern technological era.

.... this is not like the awesome 'Table Top' version that MS premiered a while back that's disappeared somewhere?
