Samsung showcases really smart TVs and Galaxy gadgets (photos)

I really think that the TV manufacturers are creating a product for a market that shouldn't exist with "smart" TV's. I can see perhaps making the remote "smarter" by perhaps putting in voice control, but it makes no sense to try to make the TV a computer. It makes far more sense for the HDTV to function as intended and that is as a monitor... use it as the monitor for a PC that's configured for it. I've used a PC with good graphics and audio cards to feed my Samsung 61" DLP HDTV and it works great! I bought a $50 wireless keyboard with a roller ball on it (as a substitute for the mouse) and it does everything any of these smart TV's does and far more. I would advise anyone in the market to spend money on an HDTV that has a great picture, then get a decent CPU with an HDMI connection to feed it and you will be much happier than you will ever be with a "smart" TV, because you're always going to want the TV to do something you can do with your computer and it won't. Heck, just get a wireless HDMI connector (and there are many good ones on the market now for $150 or less) and use your laptop to feed it... you will be far happier with more money in your pocket.
