6: Proposal Pack Wizard
Try this Word add-in if you manage large business documents, such as proposals, contracts, quotes, grants, and bids. Using merge technology, Proposal Pack Wizard lets you quickly assemble documents. It comes with more than 800 templates and 1,300 pages of sample text. While it's easy to implement, it may take awhile to become familiar with all it has to offer and how it works. Don't expect users to churn out a contract 10 minutes after installing.

While these all sound wonderful, the most basic (and free) add-in that makes Word, Excel, and PowerPoint much easier to use is Office Tab available at http://www.extendoffice.com/product/office-tab.html. One of the most frustrating things about MS Office is that opening multiple files of Excel, for example, opens multiple instances of Excel. Office Tab, which comes in free and paid versions, ends this screen clutter by opening all Excel files in a single instance of Excel. Office Tab adds tabs for each file -- just like a browser does for each webpage. You can customize Office Tab to your heart's content so that you can double click on a tab to close a file, change the colors and shape of tabs, and other customizations. The major benefit of the $25 version is that it lets you rename a file by right clicking on its tab -- making life a bit easier. All-in-all, Office Tab is far and away my favorite productivity enhancing add-on for MS Office. It works in Office 2010, 2007, 2003, and 2000.
Before Office 2007, there was a great Microsoft Office feature called AutoText where you could place boilerplate paragraphs or just long phrases instantly by just a short abbreviation code. Anything like that available as an addin? Thanks.
This slideshow thing is horrible! I don't read nearly as much of your lists because of it. I pick a random point in the slideshow and read it. If it is interesting, maybe I'll try another. But you are doing your columnists and developers a disservice. Come off it - at least give us a choice!

No need for an add-in on #2. Outlook does this, I use it all the time. It's great for staying on top of projects and clients.
To me you have missed probably two of the best tools for Office. Classic Menu, giving you the old style interface in addition to the ribbon style brought in with 2007, and my favourite, Office Tab. This provides tabs within Word, Excel and PowerPoint like your web browsers so that you can jump around multiple open documents with ease.
I've been using it for years. Since I use FireFox, I found a great addon that ties in directly to "Everything", it is called "PlainOldFavorites". POF allows you to use IE Favorites instead of FF bookmarks. The advantage is that each IE Favorite is a Windows shortcut FILE, which means that Everything finds them too. Very handy when I'm searching for information to include the 6,000+ favorites in my collection. My main beef with Everything is that it crashes when I right click on a file in it. I'm using V126.96.36.1991, . Are you aware of any solution to this problem.
Everything is fabulous for searching when you know all or part of a filename. It does a quick index of files on your disks, then gives search results just about instantaneously. I believe it gets its index from the FAT rather than scanning drives, which explains the speed. Bear in mind, though, that it does not find anything in file CONTENTS.

Hey! Have you found a 'Classic Menu' Plug-in? I have not & believe this was one of Microsofts WORST mistakes in years, just think of re-training 13,000 employees!
Try http://www.extendoffice.com/product.html I use the Classic Menu at home as we are still 2003 at work. It has saved me hours trying to look for normal stuff in those ribbons. As stated originally though Office Tab is just the best addin ever. I generally have 4-5/more spreadhseets open at times and it is a pure god-send.
I too hate the new 2007 menu but found a program add on that puts the old menu back on it is on addintools.com web sight. I have been using it sense we moved to 2007. It works in all the programs of microsoft office.
