I have these cracks on my Presario R3000 Notebook. They're not a problem... yet.

plastic glue in the cracks (very small amount so it doesn't leak into the electronics) That's what happens when they give up magnesium cases for cheapo plastic. I don't understand why they don't add some fibers such as fiberglass filler for reinforcing. Same thing they reinforce epoxy with to fill car body repairs.

If they used something stronger than plastic, it might just make a better product and so folks wouldn't have buy new ones as much. This in turn would put a dint in the the company's bottom line. And we can't have that! ;) Sorry, just my gripe.

of planned obsolescence. It [more than likely] applies to to virtually any "consumer" item, and it has been around a good long while, it seems to me.
