Wish you would have pointed out where the memory is located. Was curious if it could be replaced?

Great photos! Hey Bill, can you tell me what kind of microphone it uses? I heard it was suppose the have a better mic, up to 120dB this time. Do you have a make and model or any specs on it? Thanks.

Was this a OOB (out of box) failure? I notice what looks to be a damaged battery (picture 33). My iPhone 5 heats up quicker than the 4 did. I'd be interested in seeing Apple's battery failure rates, but I know better!

I see no mention of any failure here. This is disassembly for the sake of education not repairs isn't it? My 5 runs quite cool most of the time. I am currently logging my battery to judge it's performance. So far from the user reports I am hearing - if there is any issue it is iOS 6, but not sure if any issue at all. There is an issue with Telstra in Australia and something pinging the network every second instead of every minute apparently and a fix on the way.

They probably use an adhesive to make the battery stick into place, so it's not 'free' in the case, that's what it looked like to me, but I could be wrong. :)
