Surely there's a whole lot of prior art for lighting a display by putting an LED along the side. Like, most any cheap digital watch that has a light at all.
I looked at the Glowlight and the Simple Touch side by side in a BN store yesterday and got a good rundown from a knowledgeable manager. I didn't buy one -- as much because they were sold out as because I hadn't decided. This teardown article couldn't have been more timely. Nicely done. Thanks.
