Dinosaur Sighting: Microsoft Plus! Companion for Windows 95

One of most popular features in Microsoft Plus were the Desktop Themes, which provided a number of topical themes. Each one had different color schemes, sounds, screen savers, wallpaper images, icons, fonts, animated cursors, and more. The Desktop Themes app, found in the Control Panel, made it easy to select, preview and customize the various themes.

You’ll also notice that there is a Save As button at the top of the Desktop Themes app, which meant that you could pick and choose your favorite elements and create your own desktop theme.

I didn't get to use much in the Windows 95 OS as I was only using a 286-10mhz but having friends using this OS I installed this Windows 95 Plus pack quite often and the visual dynamic change to the Desk-top and other options, in those days was amazing. As I still have a copy of this CD and 2 original copies of Windows 95 I think I might set up a network for some of the old game.

... a lot of fun. Really took a trip down memory lane. Did you have Plus! installed in Windows 95? If so, what was your favorite theme?

... install it? I installed Microsoft Virtual PC 2004 on a Windows XP system and then set up a Windows 95 Virtual PC.
