Even if you are not in the habit of visiting questionable Web sites, you may occasionally find it necessary to clean up Internet Explorer in an effort to protect your privacy and/or improve the browser’s performance. This article discusses five utilities that can help you to clean up Internet Explorer and cover your tracks.
CCleaner is a free tool for cleaning up Windows and Internet Explorer. This versatile tool fixes registry errors, removes temporary files, and things like CHKDSK fragments and memory dumps.
When it comes to cleaning Internet Explorer, CCleaner clears the browser history, and removes cookies and temporary Internet files. The nice thing about this utility (besides its versatility) is that it doesn’t have to perform a blanket deletion of your cookies. You have the option of specifying cookies that you would like to keep.

I have used this very useful tool for many years...clears cache, cookies, tempory files and browsing history, it also cleans up your registry
This is the app that I use ever day at the end of the day after I turn off all my other applications. It usually takes less that a minute, but it gets rid of all the temp file accumulation of the day. Along with other things, it makes my 2 1/2 year old Lenovo as fast as the day I got it. Everyone with a Window computer should use this at the end of each day before they turn their computer off for the evening.
Used this application for a long time. Used to be very userfriendly. But it failed me on my Windows 8. I was wondering how and why my Microsoft Kebboard and Mouse combination was not being detected for want of drivers. Tried my best to get drivers which also failed to be materialised. Sime file somewhere was missing. Step by step I had a re installation of Windows 8 and other appications. Untill installation of CCleaner was done there was no problem. Once ccleaner was run once. The Mouse and keboard disappeared. I do not know how this happens
Win 8 is a different kettle of fish which it appears give you a taste of the apple world of compatibility.
