Gallery: Top 10 holiday gifts for the tech team

With the festive season looming, here are silicon.com's pick of the presents you might want to consider to keep your friendly local tech guy or gal on your side for another year.

Starting with a musical theme, Ion Audio's Contemporary iTTUSB turntable allows you to play old-style vinyl records and transfer them to MP3 format.

It uses software from Audacity to preserve the authentic record sound - complete with scratches - and works for LPs and singles.

It's K.I.T.T., not "Kit". LOL! But I agree wholeheartedly. K.I.T.T. makes a great gift! I'm surprised they didn't mention the Mio Knight Rider GPS which is voiced by none other than the original K.I.T.T. himself - William Daniels! THAT would also make a great present!

I'm glad to see the Ion USB turntable made the list. The only problem with the one pictured is, it has no dust cover. The dust cover serves to negate/reduce reverb from the walls of the room you're in from causing tonearm/needle vibrations, which negatively impact the quality of your recording. Fortunately, they now offer a version with a dust cover. Unfortunately, it's almost 50% more expensive.
