How to create a VMware vSphere virtual machine utilizing all available features

Step 11: Select the driver

A virtual machine has a driver associated with its disk access. vSphere gives four options for this function, with the new VMware Paravirtual driver being again purpose-built for virtual machines. vSphere now supports the VMware Paravirtual driver to be used on boot volumes for selected operating systems (including most current Windows versions). The Paravirtual driver requires some additional consideration for being made bootable, see VMware KB 1010398.

Please put this in a PDF file where I can save it on my local disk. When I saw the 16 web pages I had to load just to see one step at a time, web pages with all the extraneous baggage like advertising, etc., I do not want to look at the article, and I am not. Give me an introduction with a PDF file I can quickly download and page through, and I am great with that.

To be useful as a reference, an article with this many images should be available as a PDF download. Sixteen web pages to read the entire article is too much.

I don't see it either. The original article and instructions were posted in Sept. 2010. The TechRepublic site was completely overhauled in January 2011. It looks like the PDF button Selena talked about is no longer a feature.

great idea for the pdf, why doesn't the person who thought of the idea first do that(i.e., create a pdf with permission from TR)

Some recent functionality added to our gallery tool allows auto-PDF generation. Leaves a bit of white space between slides, still, it's all in one downloadable doc now. Just click the PDF button in the action bar below the title to download. I hope that helps.

Thanks Selena, I guess it was so obvious up there that I didn't even notice that feature. Works well. Thanks
