Rain in Virginia
The winning photo was taken by TR member Toolman5774 with a Samsung Focus, metric metering, with anti shake and at 5 mp. He said, "Wish it was a better angle, but this usually docile river is three feet higher after the rain in Virginia over the weekend."

I felt this photo did a great job of telling a story about the impact of the rain. You had to look at it for a moment to realize the water was coming out, but a great photo does that - it pulls you in and engages you.
This is an impressive display of hydraulic power. In the Mississippi Delta (USA), I have seen the under-street storm drains actually blast the heavy steel cover off the manhole, leaving a hidden (submerged) treacherous pothole capable of trapping a vehicle wheel.
I love the photos, how do you get them and if I were to get a good shot where could I send it? Enjoyed the sunset over the ocean looks like a spire of flame. Bob
There is a new challenge running until the end of the month: http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/tr-out-loud/camera-phone-challenge-may-flowers/3968 But you can certainly send some "April showers" pics that I will add to this gallery. Send an email with the photo, what camera phone you used, and your TR username to firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks!
