GnuCash doesn't offer the client/server setup that QuickBooks offers, but it's a powerful double-entry accounting program. It can handle multiple accounts, it produces amazing reports, and it does QIF/OFX/HBCI import and transaction matching, scheduled transactions, financial calculations, and much more.

Would you believe, I actually have a calculating machine similar to that shown in the picture. My dad used to use it when doing rallying (1960s) to calculate time to the next checkpoint.
Bookkeeper isn't listed on Avanquest's site anymore. Did they discontiue it? or is the link wrong? I searched their site and didn't find it.
Thanks for the heads up about that -- we checked with Avanquest and they said they pulled the current version because they're getting ready to release Bookkeeper 2012. The word is, the new release will be "very soon." --Jody
