Where is the basic system information so easily accessed in XP? I dont use Win7 but some non-tech savvy friends do and I always find the general information and Device Manager is almost all i need to help them.
Could you also give us a screen cap of the basic control panel home layout. Sounds like MS had nothing better to do than change things again (for no apparent reason, other than to confuse experience users). You could use it as the starting point for the series.
Has anyone else come across issues with website authentication using Windows 7? I am finding that access to any site requiring authentication gives a "Windows Security" dialogue box. Entering correct details of user password and domain results in the dialogue being repeated until a window appears saying authentication has failed. I have also found that the users account then gets locked out in Active Directory due to repeated "failed" authentication attempts. Is this due to the increased requirements for NTLM v2? Thanks David
Especially the layout map on the final slide... printed that one for reference. Looking forward to the more detailed articles promised, too.
Yes, DOC and/or PDFs of each presentation, and a final collection of all of the control panel presentations would be really nice. I prefer an editable format like DOC so that I can add my own comments and enhancements as my experience with the subject increases. Keep up the good work.
Totally agree! Those images would be perfect for a presentaton to a group of users. Please consider TechRepublic
