More than five years ago, Nortel IT began deploying WLAN as a convenience service for nomadic employees. The challenge was to improve business case for WLAN and to demonstrate real cost savings. Nortel's business transformation and location strategy provided the opportunity to reduce costs. Transforming geographic footprint means that some offices will grow and some will shrink; many will relocate to more suitably sized spaces.
