Healing is the primary goal of the Adventist Health System (AHS), a non-profit health care organization run by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. They wanted to streamline IT infrastructure and strengthen disaster recovery capabilities. AHS chose VMware to overcome these challenges. They implemented VMware Infrastructure 3 and VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager to create an IT environment that is more manageable, available, and recoverable. The results of deploying VMware were reduction in recovery time by 75 percent, reduction in cost of disaster recovery testing and AHS-IS has reduced hardware purchases by 84.5 percent, hardware maintenance by 93.1 percent and power consumption by 90 percent.
