Executive Summary

The history of the Austrian National Library ( dates back to the 14th century. Today, the library is an information and research center, an institution for knowledge presentation, and an educational and cultural center. Administration, performance, and scalability of existing direct-attached storage environment had become difficult to manage. Austrian National Library deployed NetApp primary and secondary storage systems to consolidate all library data, including source materials and administrative data and utilized NetApp Snapshot technology to provide data safety.
