Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) enjoys an enviable position as the largest two-year college district in the United States. The College wanted to strengthen the Student Information System (SIS) environment and activate additional processing capacity during peak times. The challenge was to build a catalog of services from which new and modified, rich Internet service-oriented applications may be architected. The College migrated SIS (legacy application on HP OpenVMS) and core business systems (SAP HR/Payroll, Financials, and Procurement on HP AlphaServer/Tru64 UNIX) to HP Integrity Superdome Servers with virtualization technologies and multi-operating-system support. Also, engage HP Services to ease the transition and assist with several application modernization projects.
